Since some members seem to ignore the correct size of image that is allowed in signatures, all images larger than 150*75px are not allowed. I don't like reiterating by having to post "reminders" or PM'img members. I have had http://www.zdlr.net/board/index.php?showtopic=280 pinned up for 6 months giving members plenty of time. I believe this is not fair to members that do cooperate. Also, text should be 5 lines or less(small font).

This was the maximum size set a long time ago...


If I havent stated it before, the reason why I want small or no sig images is for load speeds. Many of our members run on 56k, or less, and images eat up ALOT of time; and if there is a large image post after post, things start to lag and get annoying. As a webmaster, speed is of the essence. This is for the benefit of all.

How will your moving to a dedicated server make big pic sigs any more convenient for a person on a 33.6 modem? If the reason you want smaller sigs is for low bandwidth visitors then they are still going to be imposed upon whether you're dedicated, virtually hosted or piggybacking.

True, but that wasn't part of the point I was trying to make about loading. Image loading from a shared or dedicated server is practically the same for a sub 500Kbps user, I understand. Less images, will make a forum page load faster. This is the client situation.

The point you made was the other side of the situation. Shared hosting is that, shared, I have a monthly allotment of bandwidth that will reduce without repetative images in forum pages. Any BW over the limit, I need to pay extra. ...and this site is growing. This is the server situation.

Yeah, I get that part. I was merely suggestng that if we want people to cut down on the big ass pics in their sigs in order to be polite to modem people, then we would probably want to continue to be polite even afterwards.

yeah it sux to wait for the same damn image to load over and over again on a couple threads, it's cool to wait to look at an image but it is real irritating to have to wait on the same pic multiple times in the same page
