meat is a natural part of the human diet. I have no problem with people who make the choice to not eat meat, but what kills me, are ppl who actually look down on others for making the choice to eat meat.

Damn with all the shit humanbeings are dealing with on this planet, pisses me off to see people putting so much energy into "saving the cows". When our own species is on the up and up, maybe I can begin to give a fuck about other ones.

And PETA is more then rich celebs. Its a group made up of liberal facist, who wish to impose their beliefs on the world. Don't worry though, I wont let the animal deaths be invain. I'll be sure to buy a 2nd pair of gator skin shoes, a nice new fat fur coat, and double up on my burgers at mc donalds.

I agree with you here
Many vegetarians and vegans (not all) can give people crap about how they do choose to eat meat. Yeah so theres hormones and whatevers, but its also our choice, just like they chose to make theirs.

I see that animals should have their rights, but I dont want them to have equal rights. You want to be brought down to a level of a dog or a cow? I dont. First they should worry about all the stray animals running the streets biting, attacking people before anything else. We just had an instance at home where our neighbors nasty dogs jumped over the fence and killed all of my dads doves, for the second time. Its sick. But I digress.

I cannot begin to describe all the medical advances that have broken through because of animal testing. Although some may be gruesome and unnecessary, many were not. And some of you might be alive today because of that. Sometimes people to me seem to have too much time to worry about things. We need to save ourselves first.

i too, do think that animals play an important part in the human diet. also, it seems odd that we ask humans to not eat animals, when animals eat animals in nature...why is it ok for other animals but not us? unsure.gif

this talk bout veganism or vegeterianism being more healthy, that's a load of shit, it being healthier or not really depends on the person. i was vegeterian for TWO YEARS, and i was aneamic, and my immune system was fucked, i was eating plenty of healthy food, but the doctor said i really just need to eat meat so i do.

i dont feel the need to have to justify my choices in eating, i want to eat meat then i will, and to me it's just as valid as u guys eating salad. i dont think it's any less painful for a plant than it is for an animal.

i do however totally agree with u guys bout the inhumane ways these animals are treated, but if u go for organic food, that wont be a problem, they are raised in farms and are taken care of. as for hormones well, u can make sure u get hormone-free stuff. i do think that we should take more care of those animals.

dont eat in KFC and BK and all those shit places, those are nasty with animals i think we all know.

animal testing, i think it's fucked...i really do, b ut then rage-babe posed this question bout well how do we discover cures...i really hope that soon scientists would find alternatives to animal testing.

as for wearing fur, i dont, fur means we're killing animals like the fox and monkeys and that's just FUCKED zmat2.gif we dont need to fucking wear fur.

my point is, it's only natural for animals to eat each other, lions eat buffalos, humans eat cow and sheep. i think the key thing is, WE SHOULDNT TORTURE THOSE ANIMALS BY KEEPING THEM IN TINY SPACES AND CUTTING THEIR BEAKS AND ALL OF THAT SHIT zmat2.gif

on a side note, didnt peta use the haulcaust pics in one of their campaigns against KFC chicken or soemthing? yeah that was FUCKING OFFENSIVE TOO, FUCKING JERKS zmat2.gif

ok i'm done.

Dark green leafy vegetables contain some of the highest sources of iron found in nature. Just because the advise came from a doctor doesn't mean it's right. A lot of doctors don't know what they're talking about.

Killing animals simply to sell thier skin is wrong. But there is nothing wrong with wearing fur, in my opinion. I don't wear fur either but it's done in my culture and Native Americans would also wear the skin of buffalos. The difference is they didn't kill just for profit and they didn't take more than what they needed. Everything was put to use.

whats with the animosity towards vegetarians... unsure.gif

at least we're trying to do something by refusing to eat meat

...ya and i guess human nature is to put some chicken in a tiny cage where it can move around, inject them with fertilizer so they can produce more eggs and cut off their beaks birgits_scratch.gif

well yay to human nature!  cheers.gif

I can admit it's cruel and it's very painful to watch an animal killed. It's even worse when the animal knows it's about to die. Sometimes they cry cry.gif I wish I had the strength to follow a vegetarian diet but it's too expensive and difficult. Maybe one day. I tried again recently and only lasted about a week. I'll keep trying blackhair.gif

fur, it's different with native americans, for them, it really was bout killing the buffalo, eating it, and then using its skin, what i meants was, capturing monkeys, killing them for their fur and then selling the fur, some of those monkey species are endangered just coz some fucks wanna wear fur this season, that's what i was addressing embar.gif

Ok, I hear what you're saying Sarah but maybe you weren't eating the right portions. There are plenty of people who eat meat that are also anemic. Your diet just has to be well balanced and planned out. embar.gif I don't think meat is bad for you but I think too much is. Here's an article from a doctor I listen to on public radio.

QUOTE (http://www.drmirkin.com/joints/8847.html)
Too Much Animal Protein Causes Osteoporosis
By Dr. Gabe Mirkin

What's the main cause of osteoporosis, a condition that affects every woman and most men if they live long enough? Lack of calcium or eating too much protein?

A study from the University of California, San Francisco shows that elderly women who eat lots of meat have much greater loss of hip bone density and more hip fractures than those who eat primarily vegetable protein. Societies that eat large amounts of meat have a high incidence of osteoporosis. When you take in more protein than you need, your body cannot store extra protein, so it converts protein building blocks called amino acids into organic acids that acidify the bloodstream. The kidneys neutralize the acidity by pushing large amounts of calcium into the urine.

Whether it's animal protein or vegetable protein is probably not important; it's just very hard to get too much protein from vegetable sources because they are much less dense foods. You are far more likely to take in too much protein with a diet that includes a lot of meat and dairy products than with a primarily vegetarian diet.

Lack of calcium also can cause osteoporosis, but this study shows that you may be able to prevent osteoporosis by eating large amounts of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, seeds and nuts.

That's also what I was saying about Native Americans and some African cultures, everything is put to use, they're not just being killed for their skin. In that case, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Do you think that's the result of being a vegetarian or a poorly balanced diet? I have an uncle that's been a vegan for over a decade...he hasn't had any problems yet dunno.gif
