The retribution from Big Health Insurance
and they have given us such assurance
we can expect after the current round of legislation
even after all the baited biased tainted investigation
will make us all long for the old days of overpriced
fraud waste abuse all institutionally underserviced
all based on the profit of treating illness
for better money than promoting wellness
of patients whose mere being has been
forgotten by the system whose greed has been
the real cancer illness infection the real weakness
giving patients such a prognosis of bleakness
of an institution so wracked in confusion
so drained damaged broken by collusion
by institutional paralytic bureaucracy
hiding behind what it says is democracy
where a quarter of a company policyholder premiums
are spent on paying just one executive’s premiums
in perks and salaries and bonuses and compensation
but never a mention of moral contemplation
where no one thought to ask
where no one brought about the task
of asking what about the patient
wait what about the patient
who receives in care less and less
by a system in total profitable mess
by legislators who deal in hypocrisy
since their own care is paid for by this democracy
where the patient has less and less access
to what lawmakers laugh about in their recess
from legislative chambers infected by lobbyists
who profit from pain and who are hobbyists
at insuring the underinsured and uninsured
will remain forever unasserted
and will continue paying more for less care
and who are cowed against even a dare
at what the rest of the civilized
at what the rest of the rationalized
humanity can understand is needed
but now seems can never be succeeded
where the issue is health care
and not just the wealth care
of those who profit on illness
and revel in the stillness
of over a third of the population
discouraged against any contemplation
as to why so many underinsured
as to why so many uninsured
paying for exploding profits
for imploding care for more profits
are called unpatriotic
and diagnosed as neurotic
for yet more profit
yet for more profit.
