I think I might have previewed this game at a focus group in Santa Monica, I can’t believe Activision paid me $50 to play it, and give it a totally bad review because of it’s grotesque violence. Hopefully they took my advice and got rid of the techno music and toned down on the blood and scary crap. -Cesar

warez copy released yesterday by RELOADED
EDIT: and about the music, turns out maynard didnt have any part in it. which is odd because it really does sound quite a lot like tool.
EDIT 2: the reason that the warez version came out early is because some stores sold copies of doom 3 early...

The music is done by Chris Vrenna (former NiN drummer). NiN only did the music for Quake 1 & 2.

i have to wait for the Xbox version too...i don't even have a comp....shit, i ain't even got a xbox, but still.....they ain't hard to get ahold of, especially when the chick your with is a hardcore gamer and has one.

The music is done by Tweaker *chris v and his partner

I heard that the game hardly features music though. There's a cool Vrenna interview somewhere. Ill post it when i can dig it up again.

The graphics, i hope, aren't too dumbed down for the Xbox. The violence and gore is gonna be great and it's much needed.

Trent Reznor did do the Quake project and Vrenna helped him out with it cuz he was a Nail back then, just so ya know n what not.

I was all about getting this just for the soundtrack when i was believing that Trent had a part in the sound schemage, but then i saw screenshots and early dev. movies and was like. That's the fuckin game right there!!

I heard that xbox version might not be out 'til 2oo5....anyone know fur shore?

The person who started this thread shall live a long and happy life! smile.gif Nobody has been giving this game enough hype, it started the first person shooter graze for god sakes! This game shall own all. I plan on picking this game up right away. I got the trailer on a PS2 DVD about a year ago and I have been quite excited about this holy addition to the doom three series. clap2.gif clap2.gif clap2.gif

Well I just got a copy of Doom3, *Off of MIRC*, and it's not too bad.
It's really dark, and I don't mean "turn up your gamma" dark, like it's literally DARK!. You HAVE to use your flashlight to see stuff, the downside being, when your flashlight is out, you can't have a weapon equipped, and things DO get pretty chaotic.

Graphics are great, I have an ATI RADEON 9800PRO 256mb, and it runs pretty smooth at a decent resolution *I forget which one*.

The game IS VERY creepy though. It seriously gets scary, at least to me it did, mainly because with all the realistic details, and the game being so dark and all, it's just very suspenseful.

One of the only downsides though is that the guns sound real weak, they need to louder or something, so it sounds like you're shooting an actual gun.

I havn't been scared by a game in years so I have high expectations for this game. But as soon as you give me the MIRC instructions I will see if your right about this game being scary. It better not let me down, because none before it did.

buy it like i did... support the developers
i liked it,
although there was one thing i didnt like
hell
it a bit dull
i think the soul cube agrees with me. (inside joke, watch weebl and bob moon episode, you'll get it)

i finished this game a few days ago.
the only thing that bugged me about was that the bosses were too easy, especially sarge. i recommend playing it on the most difficult setting (not nightmare [you need to unlock that by beating the game first] the one below it i think).
i played it on the normal difficulty which is called "marine" i think.
other than that it was fun.
