Elderly Man's Body Found Partially Eaten

PHILADELPHIA (AP) A puppy left alone for several days when its owner died ate part of the man's body, authorities said.

George Burhart, 75, apparently died of natural causes earlier this week, authorities said. Police who entered the house Thursday found body parts scattered in three rooms, along with an 8-month Labrador named Shadow.

Burhart lived in a rowhouse in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. Police believe Shadow chomped on his remains this week because he was hungry.

Burhart's brother, Rudolph Burhart, 68, has taken the dog in, but is looking for a family with plenty of time and patience to adopt him.

"I guess he is scared of being left alone," Burhart said. "You can't even go to the bathroom without him following you."

i read this story and was fuckin grossed out...that shit's sad, these peeps don't know anything else though...it's too sad...

I like how Zack points out that there are more Veterinarians in Mexico than family Dr's. It goes to show the whole domestication ritual and the amount of money it reaps. It's sad, overall, because lots of dogs are massively bred all fucked up and wind up some serious fucking problems. The dalmatian's a great example. Do you know the estimated number of babies that live? It's not many, unfortunately. Some go blind if they remain alive, or deaf, lose taste......anything that's pretty much been "reported" to happen to humans. Loss of limbs, the list goes on.

Domestication rituals are pretty sad and this story about this man just reminds me how lucky i am to not participate in that tyranny.
