...I like to build RATM websites that don't look abandoned, like to digitize ratm analog media, enjoy cleaning up "dirty" audio, search for hours on end for rare media, and have my own zdlr.net sticker on my car. unsure.gif

you?
OzRage

Holter
...they were the first band to truely inspire me. They were also the first band to interest me in Rock and have succesfully switched me over from 95% rap to 95% rock playing on my stereo. I love to learn about new things RATM/Tom so that I can pass them on to my friends and family who have a slight interest in the band (mainly because of my obsessive interest)
OzRage
Cool cause i will buy a t-shirt

I'm a RATM Hardcore Fan Because... there has never been another band quite like them.
Banksy
I would say im a hardcore fan because I spend alot of my time looking into and researching stuff about the band. I collect there rareties like limited edition singles and vinyls. I would say i know quite alot about the band and most things connected (not as much as rev but who does) They have been a massive influence on me and i will always like them.
rev79
Been listening to them almost daily for 10+ years now..own loads of media, memorabilia..much like Holter, I was a big rap fan(still am) as well as hard rock- RATM fused the two genre together perfectly for me..I respect people that make music with a meaning- that was Rage.
wdycai
They changed my ideas of what music can be and what it can achieve.

They showed me how important it is to have an open mind, in life and in music.. because I had very negative views on rap music, based on the “mainstream” rappers and stuff… i.e. being about drugs, how much money “ho’s” they have, and how “bad” they are.. etc.

They showed me the power of anger and rage.

They showed me how 4 people playing music can really piss the US government off!

Plus they fucking rock!!!!!

I'm a hardcore RATM fan because I love their music, and I listen to barely anything else. It's hard to remember "oh yeah, I was going to listen to ______" when I'm so used to just rockin' out to rage... heh
I also own all their DVD's and albums except Live & Rare which cost way too much and has shitty inserts and stuff anyway.
cosmic

I recomend you buy it, I think it shows them at there very best. It isn't an offical release from the band but its an offical release through song. Many well most if not all bootlegs are offical at all. I had to have mine imported from Japan. It was well worth it though.

Live and Rare Kicks ass!! thumbup.gif

I'm a Hardcore RATM fan Because I see that RATM is not only a band, but a movement. I feel very passionate of not only the music pero the Movement that so greatly comes within the music. Zack D is also My Idol and I hope to keep the movement growing.. cause it's the people's movement. And I love them! grin.gif they are the BEST BAND IN THE FUCKING UNIVERSE!!!!! Oh yes they are! MAN!!!! w00t.gif

I'm a RATM hardcore fan because...

...I know i am without having to proof it to anyone. shifty.gif

(btw. Rage-Babe, very good points. I totally agree.)
cosmic
no need to prove, just fun to see how far people go for rage and thier message.
Defiant One
...because it's the only band whose entire cd collection i could listen to everyday without getting sick of them...the vocals, instrumentals, and message/lyrics are all incredible and i have no problem buying every rage item i come across

What makes you listen to RATM over any other band out there? Is it their political views? Their powerful sound? Both? If both, which attracts you more?!

I'll start by confessing that I am greatly attracted to Rage due to the powerful sound they put out. I started listening to Rage as a rocker, and their political message has caused me to learn more about the topics I was headbanging to grin.gif

What about you?

Damn, yabasta, ya killin'me..

I love RATM because they remind me, through every sound, word, and video image, that I am alive, I am not alone, I have a responsibility, that somebody out there thinks like me, that righteous anger is beautiful, that the system is hopeless, and that our hope is in the Struggle. And that I don't have to coo pretty sounds like some pigeon in order to make art that somebody wants to listen to.
Lostphoenix
i've not seen this thread....ha ha

i'm a hardcore RATM 'cos they speak out what a lot of people sit on or refuse to see so they don't have to get out of their comfort zones, and because i love their lyrics as the word choice feeds my hunger for words chosen in beautiful way. because its great to watch Zack's energy blast out. and the guy off stage seems so well sweet.

and the music rocks....

Star_light_s0ul
I'm a Zack fan cos, his message hit me at a time i'd started to abandon hope, faith and a spirit of rebellion in myself upto that point in my life in 1994, his words gave me back these qualities renewed with a more determined direction and strength to hold my head high and spit back in the face of those who think they're above me and who made me feel worthless.

The music was good too, but only as a backdrop to Zack's lyrics especially on his debut album.
Bllrghtz
...because, like star light said, rage/zdlr came by at a time when I really needed to hear them. Growing up in the raygun years in the US it slowly dawned on me that all was not as it appeared.... by the end of the decade, and after witnessing a long chain of rightwing abuses unfold in front of a basically uninterested & uninformed country, I was just about out of hope. Watching television/reading mainstream media was [& is] like having your hands bound behind you and being thrown down the rabbithole. I had pretty much come to the point of shutting it all off mentally, because it was just endlessly frustrating, and I felt alone in my views and powerless in general. Then someone giving me a ride to work popped in a tape and said "hey....have you heard this shit yet? They're called 'Rage Against the Machine....."

I knew then I wasn't alone at all, that there were other people, and apparently a lot of them, that felt as I did and were equally outraged and angry about what was happening in the world......

I think that's one of the most important/dangerous tools of the ruling class / corporatocracy .....They make you feel alone, isolated in your views, powerless, and unable to effect any kind of positive change....

.........and that's what was, & is, great about Rage / Zdlr / Nightwatchman .....They prove with every note that none of those things are true......
PseudoPheonix Bombycinas
blackhair.gif I love Rage Against The Machine with all my heart

With all my spirit

Fistintheairinthelandofhipocracy
...because i encorpertate thier message and views into my every day life, to not be victim and to be strong for myself. maybe if they are not around now they can still be in the way that people act and fight for what they beleive in.

Mere words can't even begin to describe the impact RATM had on me, but I'll try....

I'm a hardcore fan because they are the only group of musicians I've learned anything relevant from. They literally changed my life and how I view the world. To put it bluntly, there was life before Rage, when I was ignorant and clueless about what was going on, and then there was life after Rage, when my eyes were opened. I owe it all to them. For me, Rage Against the Machine is not only a musical experience, but an educational one as well.I'll always have mad love for them.Especially Zack. cool.gif
Demikain
I'm a hardcore RATM fan because I believe in a lot of the things they say (I already did before getting into them in fact) and I just think they made the greatest music of all time. Amazing riffs, inspiring vocals and so much energy. They're just the best band ever.
concept09girl
I love them mainly because how original they are. They are the best rock/rap fusion around writing lyrics mainly about the social injustices in the world.....I am a huge fan of political rock music to. Thier style, guitar work and lyrics are so fucking unique and I respect them for that, I totally aspire them especially zack de la rocha, damn I would love to be like him (and yeh course he's a hottie to - but a talented one with brains)
FuneralForAFriend
because there passion and believe in what they are doing is totally unique. when i see zack screaming "FREEDOM FOR MUMIA" its make me want to go out and act. they inspire.
