He was clumsily saying that no matter what race women were treated as second class citizens. Not his best song but his heart was in the right place.

geez i wonder what lennon would have said about the way black women are treated and stereotyped?
it's so common though. in feminism, all women are assumed to be white. in race relations, all blacks are considered to be the endangered black male. like some of us aren't women AND black?
