Holter
just that i like that smilie, "emoticon" when you reply there are little "emoticons" that you can use like grin.gif or rock.gif to let people know if you are being sarcastic or not. In this case i was jumping up and down to ticks and leeches (not really but you get it) wink.gif

for me when i listen to music lyrics come last. WHen i first started listening to RATM i didnt give a shit about the lyrics, honestly. In fact i hated Zack's vocals, but slowly after listening to the albums endlessly i started to absorb more and more of the lyrics and grew to really like the vocals on RATM, to the point where each went hand in hand.

But when i listen to music, even rap (lol) wink.gif its purely for the music. I dont even know what is being said in some songs even if i have the song memorized and I sing it outloud. It just isnt as important to me really, until someone brings up what a specific song is about. Then im interested. I think i may be a minority here with that, especially on a ZDLR forum.

now listening to China Grove - The Doobies.
TheShootingStar
^ Holter... I know EXACTLY what u mean!!!!!!!! Because I'm the same way!!!!! laughing.gif Its all about the music for me too.. There are a lot of artists out there that I listen to where I don't listen to or worry about what they are sayin in the lyrics.. For me its all about the music and their style they bring to the music.. If it was always about the message, then there would be a lot of music that I would have to cut from my list.. laughing.gif
Holter
^word man wink.gif

when jorgei posted those lyrics for Ticks and Leeches, i was like whoa hahahahaha. wtf i had no idea even with the songs title.

ive decided that for the remainder of the night i will be listening to Bone Thugs N Harmony

Right now listening to For the Love of $ cause i miss me some eazy-e

what i really want to listen to is Eazy-E's-Real Mutherphuken G's cause my cd was stolen with that shit on it. Thats a great diss song. Dre was owned lol.

For sure! I think it would be a whole other headache to listen to the lyrics the first time you heard a CD. But everytime i bought a 2pac cd or an Eminem cd im all bout the lyrics first off. They are just on another level.

u know i think theres like 1 live version of the real roll right...all the other ones are just the intro thing to freedom... its sort of a chilling track i think, so the guys can take a bit of a breather before freedom and then usually killing in the name after that...
EDIT: yea i found it... zack really changes up the lyrics on this one
anyway its from the killing your enemy bootleg. i got it off of guerrillaradio so it will probably be put back up again sometime...
Holter
yeah i was super pumped when cosmic put that shit up. First thing i downloaded off of there. I am always going to keep up hope for it to have been played somewhere else.

I also like Down Rodeo and at first when i started collecting it was difficult to find a good one but i think i have a few now.

Im trying not to listen to RATM till August, a self imposed boycott lol

why?
well personally i find when i listen to rage a lot and exclusively everything starts to sound the same wacko.gif so i guess i can see where you're coming from. thats why i've been listening to so much tool recently...
Holter
im at the exact same point. If i listen to RATM too much it all loses its power to me so i try to keep myself from listening to it too much. Plus when there is so much new stuff (to me at least) like Tool, Alice in Chains, etc etc etc i cant spend all my time listening to the same one band ive listened to forever.

So yeah, August first will be a beautiful day for roll right. i can just hear it now lol.

hehe...
hmm only like 10 days. you know what i think i might try the same thing... cuz rage has been all sounding the same to me recently...
so no rage for 10 days. actually i think i will delay till i get on the plane to go montreal.... which is on aug. 6
after august 4th it wont be hard though cuz i will just be playing doom 3 all the time.

I notice that in all most all of the Eminem songs I hear on the radio he always mentions the death of some guy called "Ronnie". Do you know who he is?
Holter
Ronnie was eminems best friend, and uncle even though they were close to the same age. They always hung out together and made music with each other. Anyway Ronnie was the younger brother of Em's mom and got eminem into rap. They both rapped etc and were good buds. When em was older and had moved to Detroit, he found out that Ronnie had given up emceeing and started to perform poorly. Later he found out that Ronnie had killed himself. So basically eminem lost his closest friend and the confidence to rap.

When Hailey was born eminem finally started rapping again and now is who he is today!
