Why is my mother cat all of a sudden being mean to her kittens.. She was I great mother cat she had two kittens I kept them cause they where twins and for alot of other reasons.. In the last past month Shegrowls ,hisses and swats them with her paw shes very damn mean.. The kittens are 6 months old.. They been done nursing for along time , so I dont think I would call it weening.. I was thinking though maybe she see them as male cats and not her kittens now and shes treating them like she would trreat any male that isnt nutered. Does that make any scense?.Anyway before you all start telling me to do this.. I am getting her spayed like this month.. Im wondering if she will play again with her kittens at least get along.. ..with them after she gets spayed. I guess Ill find out.

Well, it could be that 1)she's in heat, 2)shes making them leave her terretory 3)she don't want to nursing them (is been way too long)... those are posible anwers, I'm not a specialist, and this is just stuff that I happen to know, cuz everytime I had cats, their kitties wont stay for long (in the case I don't give them away, it happen to me once that I feed the mother, but she was never actually mine:P)
