Has anyone read this story? It's on the RATM reading list. I love it, it's the perfect allegory for greedy capitalists.

The Lorax is one of my fave books. But I had never heard of it until I was in my last year of teendom.
I also read somewhere that The Lorax was banned from schools in a number of places...don't want our children learning that the earth is more precious than money or anything.

BANNED? That's really sad or really funny, and I can't decide which laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

This book is great tho, I really like it. I *think* there was a movie that I watched of it when I was *really* young, but I don't remember if it was just a narration/slideshow type thing, or if it was actually animated.

I would love to see a Lorax movie. It is definately sad, if the book has been banned in school. That shouldn't be allowed. I think the His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman was banned by the religous right, becuase of it's heretic nature.
