he was kicking and screaming about the release of those records because he didnt think that evil empire or battle of los angeles or renegades were ready to be released. the band, producer, record company etc thought they were awesome, he thought they were unfinished. i can only speculate that something similar is happening now, except that there are no other band members to contend with so zack will work at his own pace, which is of course what he has wanted to do all along. on a different note, a friend of mine at epic said that of the 6 tracks they heard that only 2 were hip hop tracks, and that zack was mostly singing! i hope we get to hear it someday!!

its supposedly more indie rock mixed with some electronica than it is hip hop and lyrically its more personal than political, but again this is second hand. my friend was very surprised though because they expected a political hip hop album and the 6 tracks they heard were nothing of the sort

^So maybe we could still get in touch with this friend of yours at Epic for a track name or lyrics or anything about those six songs?

I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us, you're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end, I came here to tell you how this is going to begin. Now, I'm going to hang up this phone, and I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world...where anything is possible.
Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

I don't believe you... proofs needed. shifty.gif

That kicking/screaming thing sounds rediculous. Why would they do the same thing 3 times a row? If Zack wouldn't want it to be released, I don't believe that they would've done that. sleep.gif

and "kicking/screamimg" is a gentle description of the drama surrounding the release of those 3 albums. once evil empire was fully mixed zack went back in to change lyrics and wanted to change more but the album was literally pulled out from underneath him by management. battle of la was far worse with other members threatening to quit if the lyrics werent finished and recorded by the time the band left to play woodstock in 99. and zack basically quit over the release of renegades. so now as a fan i think it is great that zack can work at his own pace and we will get to hear his new stuff when he is ready to put it out, unpressured. it will be his purest work to date.

So youre saying Zack left the band over wanting to fix some things from Renegades and he wasnt allowed? Ive always read from Tom that the band had complete creative control on all of the albums. That is very interesting.

And his purest released work to date? lol, yeah, if it ever gets released.
