hi y'all. i just discovered this site lately and i understand the frustrations alot of you feel about "being in the dark" about zdlr. well, i worked with not one but 2 of rage's past mangement companies and i know a thing or two about a thing or two. i too am a huge fan and was constantly frustrated by the goings on that kept us from enjoying more music, tours, etc. it may seem hard to believe but zack's solo work started in 1995! shortly after the band returned from the aborted sessions in atlanta. the next few years were tense as many rage tours were shortened or cancelled to accomodate zack's writing solo material. meaning he has been working on this solo record for about 9 years on and off! anyway, this is a cool board with many people who seem to be keeping the embers burning so i'm happy to be here...

i still have friends at epic records and they say that the problem is the same as it ever was, that zack just can't finish. it was the same with the last 3 rage records, except there were three other guys who had a say in the matter. he was kicking and screaming over evil empire, battle of los angeles and renegades too.

maybe because he is such a perfectionist and it takes him so long that by the time he is happy some of his pints have become outdated? Thats basically why i think we are waiting

and it is definitely 9 years. when the band broke camp in atlanta in spring of 94 . they decided to take 4 months off and tom announced he was going to work on music with other people. the band couldn't agree on a mutual musical direction so zack started working on solo stuff too. this was a big point of contention in the years to come as tom tim and brad wanted to do rage and zack wanted to make time for his solo stuff.

You think that's the case? I hope Zack isn't bent on conforming to today's rap. As for myself, and probably tribes others, I still listen to the self-titled disc almost daily, which was released 12 years ago- so, in my opinion he shouldn't be worried about sounding outdated. -------------------- I know you're out there.
