anyone got a transcript of the lyrics in the promo-only release of dj quik's remix of guerrilla radio?
for anyone who hasn't heard it, it features completely different lyrics to the original version. (you can easily get it off kazaa, or thinking about it it's probably in the media section) i just want to know whether i'm right in thinking it namechecks Mick Jagger in the second verse anyone who can post the lyrics here, that would be great! -------------------- When I heard Public Enemy for the first time, it was on the soundtrack for the movie “Less than Zero,” tucked between a Madonna song and some other ‘80s rehash. I was in a friend’s car, he put the soundtrack on and I thought, what is this junk? When it got to “Bring the Noise,” I had that kind of urgent reaction where you just had to stop what you’re doing. It sounded like breaking news.

I've looked for these lyrics before, but was never successful...

"I don't listen to what art critics say. I don't know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is." - Jean-Michel Basquiat |

I'm pretty damn sure some of those lyrics are wrong..
ex: 'thats the function of war: misunderstanding' sounds like this to me: 'thats the function of war, yes understand it' among others... |

"As they stole and then threw tha tomahawk into tha sadden"
I believe..and I could be mistaken, that they throw the tomahawk (missles) at Sudan. . . Not sadden. Pretty good job by whoever wrote thos ehtough, looks like they did so jus tfrom listening to the song. Hard to do. Until I read the lyrics I made a bunch of mistakes, like Fear is your only Guide, on the radio Of blood and mixture And a ton of other ones I cant recall. Its hard to make out what they say iwthout reading it, although easier to do on a live version. I used to think it was "Some of those that were enforcers, are the same that burn crosses" instead of "work forces" Well, my mistakes made sence at least. -------------------- This is the FiFTY-FOUR effect: (the loveable nemesis)
QUOTE(Grimer 54) Society begets government. Anarchist theory is actually just a pseudo-intellectual state of denial, an idealistic illusion that can never be more than a wholly unfulfilled dream. Thus, it is a counter-productive measure that actually weakens, rather than improves the progress of society as government is inevitable in the maintenance of civilization. Therefore, it is infinitely more effective to pursue political upheaval through the system, rather then against the system. For despite all of its flaws, both Democracy and Capitalism are still rooted within the people themselves by rational and realistic means. That is not to say I advocate the status quo, but instead, a moral pursuit to right the endless wrongs brought on by the evils of human nature, via an unintimidated, undaunted, unmitigated spirit of liberty and justice for all, rather then the destructive hypocrisy of your so-called "revolution." "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I will defend, to the death, your right to say it". - attributed to Voltaire Still a sheltered idealist... but learning: This is no Oasis. |
