Is anyone else here fed up with poor, untruthful news coverage (in both the US and the UK) which only serves to stir up patriotic propaganda, xeniphobia and jingoism?

Well in the UK, i am a member of a revolutionary political party called the Socialist Workers Party. The party produces a popular working class newspaper called the Socialist Worker which comes out once a week and is distributed all over the country by SWP members. People in the USA can also access it because the newspaper is online. To read all the latest articles visit;

http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/

http://www.swp.org.uk/

I am also a member of the following left-wing organisations;

The Anti-Nazi League

http://www.anl.org.uk/

Stop the War Coalition

http://www.stopwar.org.uk/

Globalise Resistance

http://www.resist.org.uk

And finally the SWP youth organisation Spark, who sadly don't have a website yet.

Peace

Renegades, what is your problem?
Its not my party i'm just a member. We are revolutionaries because we believe the only way to overthrow the capitalist system is through revolution; thus we constitute a revolutionary party, the largest in the UK. We work towards revolution by buulding

I just want to know what your problem is.

I'm not a wierdo by the way.

Urban_Poet, i just don't think advertising your newspaper on this site is gonna do much for anyone here. Good on you for what you do, let's just leave it at that.

urban poet is not scum, i think he is arguing he's case, and if he gets elected, i very much doubt he's party is for opressin ppl.

and as for puttin a link to the newspaper, it's ok, because ppl have the right to know and to access all forms of media (not jus the mainstream shit we get everyday).

finally, keep it clean ppl, this is a mature forum.

Sarah thanks for the support. And yes i go on every protest.

Renegades, i am not 'advertising' my causes, i am just letting comrades access information.

Fred, the UK is called a democracy but in effect is not. Democracy means people's power (derived from Greek) and in no way do the people have power in Britain; it lies in the hands of the rich. You see, to enter into an election costs alot of money and we are not backed my massive corporations like the British Labour Party and Conservative Party so we can't go into the main elections. There is no road to democracy and socialism in the UK through parliament. People did die to win the vote, and now their deaths are in vain because Britain is not really a democracy, because you can't vote for who you want (all the parties are capitalists and have the same policies- whats the point?). We need to make sure their lives were not in vain by having a revolution and restoring true democracy to Britain.

Peace.

urban urban urban this often said by the far left and it makes me cringe basicly th euk is not a democrasy ebcuase we do not follow your veiw the vast amjorty of pepole are captptalsit just becuase you are not dosent mean you can exsept this.

the rch have 1 vote like every body eles + the soclists then to blame every thing on the rich when although this has some truth will never be the right anser it like how will you get more moeny there anser is tax the rich well thats nice but if you read any ecnomics you relises that this is will do little. to say all three main aprtys have the same poicys just make light of your case which argued right could have much gravity. if you say no party with out the backing of the corportations can succed when old labour was very much a union led party was surtenly a major party ( despite it triping failed ecconomics of protectonism and more)
how very you can run low bugest campains. 1) where are the party hequaters in local areas.get pepole out on the streets campaing.

I think it is silly that you imadily think that the uk is not a democrsy becuase you are not impower and the good pepole would vote for if they could in fact like polticans pepole range from the far left to far right so why would you not asume that the center party (labour) would accive the most votes. And most pepole are happy with labours goverment although i am far from a labour supposrter i do reconsise both succeses and failers of there rule in goverment and would have to say on avarge they have made life better for the pepole of great britain. however they like visoin and have to much spin.

peace
fred
p.s the giv i know is not a democrasy becuase of the queen but to say she has any real powers is silly she just lives of the state.
