Biblical prophecy forecasted these times we are now living in. It has been predicted and will come to pass. The bible says the world will end in fire, everything in this imperfect world is fleeting and nothing will remain. Souls are what matter, so the earth will pass away but my (Jesus) words will never pass away. I try to keep the planet clean, recycle and use cloth bags and the whole shebang, knowing that its utterly pointless (but at least I try) knowing that there is so much pollution and garbage piling up everywhere that there is no point to trying to save this planet (even though we still do not need to add to it). There are too many problems in this world that will never be solved-but eternal life with Christ (the savior of the world) and being saved from sin is the biggest gift anyone could give to anyone else, but this is eternity and not this fleeting time on a dying planet.

Every generation of fringe Christian (and non-Christian) groups have said that. Early Christianity was, in essence, an apocalypse cult; the early followers of the Christian doctrine believed that they were living in the end times and that the followers of Jesus would live to see the end of the world. Clearly that didn't happen, but that belief reappears throughout the intervening ~1,900 years.

One of the most ridiculous and poignant examples of how wrong every generation of apocalypse Christian sects have been is with the Seventh-day Adventists. The Millerites were a group led by a guy named William Miller who predicted Jesus would return in 1844. His initial prediction was false, so he came up with a new date, and then another, and another, until he lost most of his followers and credibility.

The whole sordid affair served only to distract Miller's adherents from the real issues of the day: slavery, immigration, economic injustice, and a rapidly-industrializing society. Rather than apply their creative energies toward solving the problems in 19th century America and Europe, they devoted their lives to a charlatan's self-aggrandizing beliefs.

The whole concept of the end times is absurd, and it's even more absurd to believe that it's taking place now. The only evidence presented for an end-of-the-world scenario is a bunch of poorly-translated and idiomatic writing from the first century that may or may not actually describe anything applicable to us. And that's if you accept that the narrative aspects of the bible has any basis in fact or reality--a suggestion I reject wholesale.

The very earliest "Christians"/Followers of Jesus+Christ the Nazarite were Essenes and Gnostics, which are the sects that John the Baptists followers also came from. There are surviving branches of these earliest followers in the middle-east, who went underground due to Roman millitary persecution. Some of these groups did not survive, like at Masada for example, but many of their writings have.

Much of that time period remains a mystery because of so-called Mystery Babylon the "Great" i.e the Whore of Babylon/Rome the Cahtolic Church, which is guilty of killing more Christian men woman and children (entire nations of people) than any other entity in human History (because though they were Christians they were not Roman-Catholic or willing ot bow to the Roman emperor/pope). The Cahtolic Church claims that they are successors of Peter but Peter was COMMANDED in Scripture not to go to Rome, and what is more, Peter's final resting spot has already been discovered in JERUSALEM, and not underneath the Vatican like they claim.

The world at large believes that "Christianity" and the Church are the same thing - and perhaps it is - which is why TRUE followers of Jesus instead of calling themselves Chrsitians would live-out The Way that Jesus taught with actions and not words, and since these religious institutions say and do the exact opposite of Jesus as well as being guilty of the most horrendous of crimes, it should go to show that the Church is in fact the enemy of God and True Believers everywhere. The destruction of the Catholic Church by Jesus+Christ on His Second Coming is fortold by not only the Book of Revelation (Ch 17 and 18) but also by the Prophet Malachy.


Several religions including the Hopi ( http://jahtruth.net/chiefdan.htm ) believe that human-civilization has come to an end on Earth 3 times prior to the current human race, and that each time mans technology surpasses mans spirituality and that due to disrespect for the Creator of the planet, a global disaster happens, and Nature is given a chance to start over. Several times in the middle-ages people believed it was the "End" times and it never was, for the whole of Earth, but the difference is that now due to climate change and nuclear/biological war (like Swine and Bird Flu), and taking into consideration the stated goal of the "global elites" ( http://jahtruth.net/illumin.htm ) to reduce the population (Some say as low as 3000, with the "elites" surviving in in D.U.M.B.s), if people believe in the idea of human life on Earth ending or not, there is still perhaps for the first time ever a very real liklihood that a large majority of mankind may not survive. Time like always will tell, but the Prophecies are clear that at the "End Times" Christ "Destroys those who Destroy Earth" http://jahtruth.net/signs.htm .
