I don't think Sadam would be stupid enough to be in a building during US air assaults. He's too much of a smart guy.

See that's what I thought! I thought, there is no way we will ever get Saddam. But part of me kind of hopes that we did, because the people in Baghdad are turning. They tore down a statue today and are dancing in the streets. If Saddam isn't dead a situation like the one during the first gulf war could arise and there could be hell to pay by the people of Baghdad.

I keep in mind the idea that the U.S. would hesitate to tell the public if Hussein is dead, though. It gives the people here and elsewhere a sense of justification for the continuing efforts in the country if Saddam is alive.

thats' what I thought watching the news... There's still a threat that it might turn to a civil war. We still don't know where the Saddam Hussein's troops are...

But I really don't think he's dead. He's hiding somewhere, probably in another country. That'll give an excuse to attack another country.. hey I heard they already talk about Syria..

I saw in one news report that the troops were collecting things from his palace, like toothbrushes. Maybe it's for DNA, if they do find pieces ermm.gif

Hopefully hes not dead. They should catch him and his sons, put them in a room whit the family members of the people he used chemical weapons on and all those people he has killed...and let them take care of him.

Russia is still a threat for the US national security. It's the only country which could destroy the US territory with nuclear weapons. North Korea is not even close..

Yes, yes, very true. The U.S. is trying to bully too many at once. I think the U.S. does know what it's doing, and they're scared but won't show it. They're putting too much trust in their scare tactics, all to save face.

That's what "March Of Death" is about, I think.

At this point, I dont think the US would go after Saddam if he showed up in Russia. The backlash would be too massive if they tried to go to war again, esp over one person.

Originally when the US started threatening they were saying they wanted Saddam to "step down" and accept France's offer to live in Ghana (or somewhere like that?). We all know they talk bullocks, but I really don't think they'd start another war at this point, besides Russia doesn't have anything they want right now......

However, I am thinking Saddam was in South America a month ago getting his face "off"....

I don't think France has ever made the suggestion that he should live in another country... Which one would accept him?
And now they're saying Syria helped him to escape from Irak.

But really, do you think that he stayed in Irak while his country was bombed? He know he had no chance.
